Assuming a position of Head of the Department is both a challenge and an opportunity. The challenge is to harness my leadership skills to address the areas of improvement in the department whereas an opportunity is to work along with highly-esteemed staff and very-much-willing-to-learn students. I subscribe to the view that one must find meaning in one's daily work and this is the guiding principle that catalyzes and drives each one of us in the department. The newsletter, which is the result of the efforts put in by a dedicated team of faculty members, offers a platform for showcasing our activities and sharing the journey of the department. I hope that it will provide increased opportunities for interaction among the students and faculty members of the entire institution to our Department. I look forward to many more enriching issues of the newsletter in near and distant future.
