Computer Science and Engineering

Block AB1

Introduction

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), established in the 1998, is one of the oldest departments of the institution. The faculty members and technical staff are involved, not only, in classroom teaching, but also in Project Guidance, Industrial Interactions, Research Activities, Seminars, Workshops, various co-curricular activities and beyond curriculum training, aiding in the holistic development of the students

It offers two undergraduate programs four year degree programme one in Computer Science and Engineering with an annual intake of 180 students and the second one is B. Tech (CSE) with specialization in Data Science and Machine Learning with annual intake of 60 students. It offers two year M.Tech. Post Graduate programme in Computer Science & Engineering with an annual intake of 18 students. These programmes are affiliated to Dr. A.P.J Abdual Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

The state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped with latest configuration of hardware and software. Although, emphasis is given on use and promotion of open source software and systems, laboratories are also equipped with proprietary software such as Rational Software Architect, Rational Functional Tester and Rational Quality Manager. The labs are Internet enabled through LAN and Wi-Fi. These facilities are effectively used, not only by the faculty members for the purpose of teaching, but also by the students' Nibble Computer Society for holding technical events such as quizzes, workshops and competitive events.

The faculty members are well qualified and are involved in research in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Neural Network, Pattern Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Data Compression, Image Processing, etc. After completing the four year degree, students get placed in reputed companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Birlasoft, to name a few. Many students have also been hired by PSU’s like Indian Navy, Indian Army and Air force, while many are pursuing M.Tech, MBA & MS from premier institutions like IISc, IITs, IIMs and Symbiosis.

    Student Forum ‘NIBBLE COMPUTER SOCIETY’

The Nibble Computer Society is formed by students of Computer Science and Engineering Department working under the guidance of faculty. It is the oldest students' society of the institution. NCS organizes workshops, seminars and contests in order to inculcate technical and creative skills among the students. NCS is a student group that constantly tries to innovate and foster technical activities on the campus. Since 2000, we have focused on creating meaningful experiences through immersive learning. We hope to bring the best in code, development and design to the college scene.NCS consists of four clubs, each dealing with activities in a separate field of expertise. These are: 1. Programming Club
    2. Web Club
    3. Design Club
    4. Technical Club

    Scope & Objectives

The forum provides opportunity to discover hidden talents of students. The forum also gives a platform to exhibit technical skill, presentation skill, and communication skill by organizing various events for students in the technical field.

    Research Initiatives

Since then the research facility is available for research scholars to carry out research in their specific area. Students and research scholars are encouraged to take up research in various domains like Image Processing, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Data Mining, Deep Learning and Cloud Computing.
